IV International Experimental Archaeology Conference (Burgos-Spain)

Experimenta (the Spanish Experimental Archaeology Association) is a non-profit association created, among other proposes, to organise international experimental archaeology conferences. Previous conferences were successively held in Santander- Cantabria (2005), Ronda- Granada (2008) and Banyoles-Girona (2011). Current Experimenta members are the participants of the 3rd Conference in 2011. All participants to the 4th Conference in 2014 will automatically be the members 2014-2017.
In 2011, at the 3rd Conference, the candidacy of Human Evolution Museum and Cultural Space of Sierra de Atapuerca to host the IV International Experimental Archaeology Conference was unanimously accepted.
The 4th Conference will also be an official EXARC Conference, attracting many colleagues from far away. EXARC is the international ICOM Affiliated Organisation representing archaeological open-air museums, experimental archaeology, ancient technology and interpretation. EXARC has over 200 members in 30 countries worldwide. EXARC will hold its Annual General Meeting during this Conference.
Call for Papers

. Answers will be sent in the last week of March. Proposals must be sent to email@example.com
. There are three types of papers one can hand in: lectures, posters and experimental collections. To participate in the conference in any of these modalities (media, posters and collections) at least one author needs to register and pay the required fees.
Lectures should be maximum 10 minutes long and are preferred to be in English although Spanish and French are also accepted. The PowerPoint, slides or Prezi should either be in English only or in English and Spanish.
Your proposal should include the title of the lecture, the authors and their affiliation and a summary in Spanish or English 300 words.
There will be five types of sessions.
1. Technical and technological experimentation and analysis on archaeological remains like stone, organic materials, ceramics, metallurgy and other materials.
2. Taphonomy, use wear analysis and experimentation as well as socio-economic interpretation.
3. Archaeological experimentation in the field of (building) architecture and labour productivity.
4. Experience and experiment in learning & teaching and heritage interpretation.
5. Experience and experiment in archaeology: demonstrations and workshops.
The poster session will be on Thursday, 8 May, 18:30h to 20:30h. Every poster requires at least one of the authors to be present and discuss its contents with the conference participants. Posters are accepted in Spanish, English and French and should measure A1 size, vertical format (841 wide x 594 high), resolution JPG / TIF format 300dpi.
Your proposal should include the title of the poster, the authors and their affiliation and a summary in Spanish or English of maximum 300 words.
The experimental meeting session is like “live posters” and will be on Thursday, 8 May, 18:30h - 20:30h. Every theme requires one of the authors to be present and discuss its contents with the conference participants.
Your proposal should include the title of the experimental meeting, the authors and their affiliation and a summary in Spanish or English of 300 words. One general result of the photo collection, 5 photos of detailed results of the collection and 5 photos of the experiment. Each photo should be titled and numbered.
