The International Documentation Committee of ICOM (CIDOC)
[ Description ]
Coinciding with the 20th ICOM general conference in Seoul,
Korea, CIDOC will be hosting another in their series of dynamic
conferences focusing on contemporary issues in museum documentation.
This exciting opportunity to visit Asia for the first time
brings new views and challenges to the
documentation community. With this in mind CIDOC has set as
its theme East meets West: Influence, Interchange and Interoperability.
Papers are invited to address this and related topics. CIDOC
has already identified a number of themes within this area
but welcomes additional proposals.
Below is the current non-exhaustive list of themes:

- Theft of Cultural and Natural Heritage

The Birds of a Feather breakfast allows new and existing
CIDOCers to discover which Working Groups interest them and
what has happened during the last year.
[ Types of contribution
]
Contributions may take one of the following formats:
- Full length paper (20 minutes including question time)
- Market of Ideas contribution (10 minute informal paper
on any burning
issue)
- Tutorials and workshops (Half day in-depth)
- Posters (Up to A2 in size)
There will be an opportunity to present your poster Contributions
may be made in English, French, Spanish or Korean.
There will be a prize for the paper (full length or Market
of Ideas) voted
best in conference.
There will be a prize for the poster voted best in conference.
[ Submissions ]
Submissions should consist of the title and a short one-paragraph
abstract.
The abstract may be in English, French or preferably both.
An indication of
the preferred language of presentation should also be given.
