Theme:
East meets West: influence, interchange and interoperability
Coinciding with the 20th ICOM general conference in Seoul,
Korea, CIDOC will be hosting another in their series of dynamic
conferences focusing on contemporary issues in museum documentation.
This exciting opportunity to visit Asia for the first time
brings new views and challenges to the documentation community.
With this in mind CIDOC has set as its theme East meets West:
Influence, Interchange and Interoperability. Papers are invited
to address this and related topics. CIDOC has already identified
a number of themes within this area but welcomes additional
proposals.
Below is the current non-exhaustive list of themes:
- Asian cultures: impact and influence on documentation
- Access
- From audit data to knowledge
- Counteracting European hegemony
- Theft of cultural and natural heritage
